Why is a failed violation not being set as recurring after a failed inspection?

Recurring violations aren’t an automatic feature — they’re created by manually scheduling a re-inspection after a failed inspection.

How it works: when you mark an inspection failed and add violations, the system prompts you to schedule a re-inspection. That re-inspection is what carries the violation forward.

If this isn’t happening: - The re-inspection prompt may have been dismissed when the failed inspection was saved. - Manually create a re-inspection from the original failed inspection record. - If the prompt isn’t triggering at all, confirm a re-inspection Inspection Work Type is configured (Tools > Code Enforcement Options > Edit Inspection Work Type). If it’s missing, escalate to SDL Support.

This applies to both Code Enforcement and Fire Prevention modules.
