SDL Online - Construction - Remote Inspections (Unsupervised )

1. To do an unsupervised remote inspection, log into SDL Online. Then, click Inspections from the left-hand menu.

   

2. Double-click the inspection that you would like to invite the contractor to complete on their own. 

   

3. Navigate to the Remote tab.

   

4. Click the Create and Send Remote Inspection button in the Unsupervised Inspection section.

   

5. Click Yes

   

6. You can email or text the invite to the contractor. Note: To include instructions, you must use the email option. To do this, enter the contractor's email address in the email field.

   

7. Enter your instructions in the Notes section.

   

8. Click Send Invites

   

9. The contractor will receive an email containing the invite link and instructions. 

   

10. To send the invite via text, enter the contractor's phone number in the Phone field.

    

11. Then click Send Invites. The contractor will receive a text message inviting them to take pictures, add notes and digitally sign-off on the inspection.

    

12. Once the contractor finishes their unsupervised inspection, both the contractor and inspector will be notified.

    

13. In SDL Online, the inspector can see that the remote inspection has been completed. To review, double-click the inspection. 

    

14. A recap of the inspection will appear under the Result Comment section of the Inspection screen. 

    

15. You can review the contractor's notes in the Closure tab.

    

16. You can review the contractor's photos in the Related tab.

    

17. Once you've reviewed the notes and photos, select the inspection result from the drop-down menu in the Inspection tab. 

    

18. Click Save to complete the process.

    

19. The inspection will be updated with the inspection result in the data grid.
