2025-05-19 Update - SDL Desktop - Fire Prevention

Updated Smoke Detector Request Options

New Jersey State law has recently changed, in order to handle the presence of a secondary power source in a home.  Recent changes in SDL Desktop's Fire Prevention module have been made, in order to align with this change in law.  In the Smoke Detector Inspection Request, a new check box has been added to the certificate, indicating that a secondary power source is present and is in compliance with new labeling requirements.

Additionally, an option has also been added to mark that a secondary power source exists, and to indicate the type of source.  This option does not need to be set and has no bearing on the printed certificate.  Users can type in additional types into the combo box as needed.  You should only mark the "The Structure Contains…" checkbox if the home has a secondary power source and IS in compliance with labeling.

The Certificate has also been updated to reflect these changes.

*Please note: our default wording and the title of the certificate can be modified in Tools Menu | Fire Prevention Options | Smoke Tab.

*Please note: the Fire Extinguisher option is no longer needed and has been shortened and removed from the certificate.  However, it is still on the form for historical purposes.
