How do I generate or print a certificate of occupancy (CO)?

Certificates of Occupancy are issued from within the Construction module, directly on the permit they apply to.

  1. Open the permit and go to the Certs tab (manages all UCC and Non-UCC certificates for the permit).
  2. Click New under UCC Certificates.
  • If status items are still pending review, a Status Window lists what needs attention — all items must be green before a CO can be issued.
  • If the Status Window doesn’t appear, all items are already green and the permit is ready.
  • Admins may be able to issue a CO with red (incomplete) items if the town allows bypassing this check.
  1. Select Certificate of Occupancy from the list and click OK.
  2. In the certificate editor:
  • Enter the Date Issued.
  • Confirm contractor/agent info and other details.
  • Optionally Print, use Mailing, or Sign directly from this window.
  • Click OK to finalize.

Once issued, the CO appears under UCC Certificates on the Certs tab with its issue date recorded.
