start iorad content - don't remove it

  1. This guide will demonstrate how to create violations using the Add and Multi violation tools in the Fire Prevention module. We will begin in a Unit inspection. If you need to create a new inspection, refer to our inspection guide

    Step 1 image

  2. First, Navigate to the Issued Violations tab and click Add. This will create a single violation.

    Step 2 image

  3. You will be prompted to create a blank violation or use a template. In this example, we will create a blank violation. Click OK to continue.

    Step 3 image

  4. In the Detail tab of the Violation, select an Issuing Officer, Issue Date, Compliance Date, Infraction type, and statute Source. Select a Statute Rule.

    Step 4 image

  5. You can also use the Statute Search tool rather than cycle through the drop down box.

    Step 5 image

  6. Clicking the Statute Search will open the Statute Lookup form. You can use this form to quickly find a specific statute.

    Step 6 image

  7. Highlight the statute and click OK to add it to the violation.

    Step 7 image

  8. Enter the Location of Infraction and Summary of Infraction to complete the Violation Details.

    Step 8 image

  9. You can add fines to the violation via the Enforcement tab.

    Step 9 image

  10. The violation can be closed and abated via the Closure tab. Click OK to save the violation.

    Step 10 image

  11. When saving a violation you will be prompted to create a compliance inspection. In this example we are adding additional violations and we want them all to be listed on the compliance inspection, so we will say No to this prompt.

    Step 11 image

  12. Now lets look at creating multiple violations. Click the Multi button to open the Multiple Violation Creator form.

    Step 12 image

  13. Select the Statute Source.

    Step 13 image

  14. By default only the Quick Code statutes will be available in the statute rule drop down boxes. Check the Show All Statutes box to make all the statutes available.

    Step 14 image

  15. Select a Statute Rule. Then, enter a Description (also known as the Summary of Infraction). Lastly, enter a Location (also known as Location of Infraction).

    Step 15 image

  16. Check the box on the left to add additional violations. Repeat these steps for each violation you want to create.

    Step 16 image

  17. Click OK to create the violations and close the Multiple Violation Creator form.

    Step 17 image

  18. You will not be prompted to create the compliance inspection after using the Multiple Violation Creator. We will need to do this by setting the Inspection result. Navigate back to the Inspection tab

    Step 18 image

  19. Select the Fail result type.

    Step 19 image

  20. This will automatically check the Completed check box, this in turn triggers the compliance inspection creation prompt.

    Step 20 image

  21. Click Yes to continue.

    Step 21 image

  22. Fill in the Inspection info form and click OK to create the compliance inspection.

    Step 22 image

  23. The compliance inspection has now been created and can be seen in the Unit Inspections sidebar.

    Step 23 image

  24. Violations issued on previous inspections will appear under the RE-Insp Violations tab. From here we can move these violations to another inspection, or abate them.

    Step 24 image

  25. Any violations that are not abated will be moved onto the next Compliance Inspections RE-Insp Violations tab.

The process is now complete. Click the Save and Close button to exit the Inspection Editor.
