How to log in to SDL Desktop Hosted

Prerequisites

  • The Parallels RAS client (“SDL Hosting Client”) must be installed on your machine
  • An Active Directory account (set up by SDL Support)

First-Time Setup

  1. Go to https://ps-1.sdldesktop.com/userportal/download and click Download Client.
  2. Run the installer that downloads.
  3. Once installed, go back to the website and click the button to configure the SDL Hosting Client.
  4. When prompted to open in SDL Hosting Client, click Yes — the configuration completes automatically.

Logging In (after first-time setup)

  1. Open the SDL Hosting Client (Parallels).
  2. Confirm the gateway/domain shows PS1.
  3. Enter your credentials in the format username@sdldesktop — omitting the @sdldesktop domain will cause login to fail.
  4. Select your municipality from the dropdown (only towns associated with your AD account will appear).
  5. Check Save Password so you aren’t prompted for credentials on future logins.
  6. Wait 1–3 minutes for SDL Desktop to fully load.

Note: Steps 1–4 above are typically only needed the first time you log in. If you save your credentials, future logins go straight to the municipality selection or directly into SDL Desktop.
