Construction - Permits - Waive Local Fees
There may be instances where a local fee needs to be waived (i.e. local ordinances, natural disasters or other special events). In SDL Desktop there is a specific button that will allow you to reset the local subcode fees. There is also a report that will show the totals and permits that were adjusted.
Waiving the Fees
On the Fees tab, click the "Waive all Subcode Fees" button.

Click "Yes" on the first option to set the fees to zero.

Normally, you would click No on the second option, because normally your decisions on local fees will not affect what the state is owed.

You will see the Fees zeroed out on the top right of the tab.

Reporting
Reporting of the lowered fees can be done from the Construction Report Options, by selecting "Exempt Audit" under DCA Reports. Enter the date range you want to report on and check the "Print Log Report" option if you want the log of each permit vs. just the summary.

Override Datagrids
In recent updates, we added two Overridden data grids to provide additional reporting and filtering options. For example, you can see the override type that was used. If you do not see these options, you may have to call support to add them to your system (732-357-1280).

Special Events - Preliminary Inspections
In some instances, you may want to allow inspections to occur before a permit is issued. You can do this on the General Tab of the permit, by clicking Allow Preliminary Inspections. This will activate the Add Inspection Buttons on the Inspection Tab.

Special Events - Work Types
We recommend you add a work type to describe this event or situation to the Work Type list for tracking purposes. In the Tools menu | Construction Options | General Tab, under the Work Types item, select each of the sections: New, Addition, Alteration, Demolition, and add a label to each as needed. You will have to manually add this to permits as they are entered.
