Code Enforcement - Creating an Inspection, Violation, and Re-Inspection

This guide will demonstrate how to create an inspection, violation, and subsequent re-inspection. There are many different areas where you can create an inspection in GeoClient. We will focus on Spot Inspections from the Inspections data grid.

The first step is to find the Inspections data grid under the Code Enforcement section. Once you're in the data grid, click the New button.

You will be asked to either create a new blank inspection, or create an inspection from a template. In this example, we will be creating a blank inspection. Click OK to continue.

Enter the Block, Lot, and Qualifier information into the boxes provided, and click Link. This will auto-populate the location and owner information. If you do not know the BLQ you can use the Search button to find the address or enter it manually.

Go to the Inspection tab. Under Status, select the Inspector, Inspection Type, Inspection Level, and provide any information related to the inspection in the Comments box. 

Under Scheduling, select the Inspection Date.

If you need to issue a violation, navigate to the Violations tab and click the Add button.

In the Code Violation window,  the property, owner, and location information will be automatically copied from the Inspection.

Fill out all the information on the Detail tab. Note: You can leave the Summons Number blank. Once you have entered all of the details, click OK.

The system will now prompt you to create a Compliance Inspection. This violation will automatically be tied to this new inspection. Click Yes to continue.

You are now in the Compliance Inspection. Fill in all of the necessary details on the Inspection tab, then click OK to return to the violation record. 

Click OK to save and close the violation form.

Now you are back in your original inspection. Be sure to set an Inspection Result and enter Inspection Comments if the inspection is complete. Click Ok to exit.
