2022-02-04 Update - SDL Desktop

This article covers updates that were released on 2/4/22.

Pet Late Fee Date

We have added a fix to address an issue where the SDL Portal late fee and the SDL Desktop late fee were off by a day, causing the late fee to charge 1 day early. The most recent update (version 21.4.10) includes a fix, but will require you to open the pet options and click “OK” to resave them.

Pet Search for Portal Requests

We have added an update to help avoid creating duplicate pets when processing new pet portal requests in the SDL Desktop. Prior to this update, if a citizen did not find their pet, they would add the pet's name to the comments section or submit it as a new request. When processing this request, a duplicate pet could be made.

To avoid instances of duplicate pets, we have added a pet look-up screen for all “New” pet requests that will allow you to search by both the address and pet name to see if the pet already exists. This search window will also appear if the citizen checks the “I can’t find my pet’ box on a license renewal or pet deactivation request which will make it easier for towns to search for the pet.

Zoning Application - Work Completed Date

We have added a “Work Completed and Reviewed’ date field to the “Closure” tab of a Zoning Application. You can use this field to notate when all of the work has been completed and all of the conditions have been followed to indicate that the application is closed and complete.

If you would like this field added to your data grid, please call support at 732-357-1280.

As for other updates, when you link a zoning application, the system will now search your MODIV tax data for the zone value. If it matches the zone label in your options, the system will automatically set that value.

Fire Prevention Invoice Wording

Last year we added the option to organize your fire prevention invoices by type. We’ve added a new update that will allow you to also adjust the invoice wording based on the invoice type. This will be helpful for instances where you have entirely different notes or instructions. For example, your violation invoices may have different instructions than your yearly registration fee.

Note: If you plan on using violation invoices, you must turn on the Multi Fee option so the system knows you will add violation payments on the invoice and not the individual violations
