Why can't I open a violation from within a permit in SDL Connect?

Violations in SDL Connect can't be created as standalone records — they have to come from either an inspection record, a form submission or a permit submission.

To add a violation from within a permit or form submission: go to the permit's Violations tab and click Add.

Steps to check: Confirm violation settings are configured under Form Settings > Violations tab (infraction types, authorized officers, etc.).

If you need a violation that isn't tied to any permit, the workaround is to create a spot inspection first, then add the violation from that inspection.
